TCKid.com partners with TED.com's charter for compassion

TCKid is a non-profit community founded by Brice Royer with the purpose of helping third culture kids find a sense of belonging.  It has partnered with TED.com's charter for compassion.  This is an opportunity for the voices of third culture kids to be heard in the media.

TED is an acronym for Technology, Entertainment and Design.   It is a conference which gathers people who are challenged to give speeches for eighteen minutes.  In February 2008, Karen Armstrong, a former Catholic nun who authored books on what the religions of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity have in common and the effects of religions on world events won the TED Prize.  The TED Prize is given to three people annually who receive $100,000 each and granted "One Wish to Change the World."  Karen Armstrong asked for help in creating the Charter for Compassion.

TCKId is looking for creative ideas for an event on compassion and forgiveness from the perspective of a third culture kid.  You can vote for an idea or suggest your own by clicking here.  Brice Royer, Dr. Paulette Bethel, Ruth Van Reken and Erik Sinogba will be judging the entries.  Winner(s) and finalist(s) will receive one of three autographed copies of Ruth Van Reken's and David C. Pollock's book, Third Culture Kids:  Growing UP among Worlds.
