On December 1, Blackstone Group completed its purchase of Busch Entertainment Corp. from beer maker Anheuser-Busch InBev. In the process, it dropped the Busch name, rechristening the company as SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. The company will continue to run all the theme parks included in the deal, including SeaWorld in Orlando (pictured at right) and Busch Gardens in Tampa. The deal is widely speculated to be worth more than $2.5 billion.
The two Busch Gardens parks (there is a second one in Virginia) will keep their names as park of a licensing agreement with InBev.
