Hey, man. Check out Antenna Theater's new full-scale transcendental experience. It takes off from Union Square, and transports you back to a time of peace, love, and rock 'n' roll.
Magic Bus is a hippy dippy multimedia experience and adventure aboard an actual bus, which takes the audience/passengers on a trip (wink, wink) to the San Francisco of the sixties.
Chris Hardman, founder and artistic director of Antenna conceived this format, composed of original videos, documentary footage, aural histories, live hippie “flight attendants” and music of the era, combined with visits to iconic sites.
In the 60s, transportation became equated with transformation, whether the rider was Rosa Parks, Ken Kesey or a hippie in a VW bus.
Created by Antenna Theater’s Transcendental Transportation Authority and Chris Hardman…with a little help from their friends.
Chris Hardman has sent many people on legal trips: from his re-design of the Coney Island Funhouse, to his re-invention of the audio tour on Alcatraz, to the technologically induced high of Euphorium. He aims to match his format with his message.
The Magic Bus rolls on weekends through August 8. For tickets, call (800-838-3006) or go to www.sfiaf.org. Tickets for this happening are $25.
