Unleash some 'Wrath' with the Boston Babydolls

Boston’s own homegrown burlesque troupe, The Boston Babydolls, will be premiering a new show on Monday, July 13 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts Black Box Theatre.

The Doll’s latest offering is The Wrathskellar, and it presents a bit of a departure from the usual glitz and glam world of burlesque. Set in a dark underworld lounge in 19th century London, a ragtag group of rebels, loners, and heartbroken souls come together to express their devastation and darkest desires. In diverting their typical cheeriness and retro approach, the Babydolls have crafted a dark, thought-provoking show that promises to be as disturbing as it is entertaining.

The Boston Babydolls have long been celebrated as the premier burlesque troop in the New England area. Their shows blend elements of comedy, theater, “straight dance,” and, of course, striptease--among other entertaining ingredients. Playing a variety of venues over the years, the Dolls are fast becoming a local Boston treasure.

Monday night’s preview of The Wrathskellar will feature a post-show question and answer session with the cast. On Saturday, July 18, there will also be an opportunity to take part in a Q and A with legendary burlesque star April March before the evening performance. Ticket prices are available at Brown Paper Tickets.

The Wrathskellar runs through July 18.
