Nazu Dance Company, created by Ivorian Nai Zou, combines traditional African dancing with healing and contemporary movements to help restore wholeness to the dancer and the viewer.
Master dancer, Nai Zou, joined the national Ballet of Ivory Coast at the age of 13. Since then he has traveled to many countries and has received awards for being the best amongst his peers. As a member of the largest performing arts ensemble in the Ivory Coast Nai Zou excelled. World-renowned choreographer, Ralph Lemon, recognized Nai Zou’s talents and cast him out of a group of 300 people for an upcoming show he was producing. Nai Zou formed his own dance company in 2000 so that he could focus on his passion which is the spirit of healing through dancing.
