2009 Festival of Independent Theatres Call for Submissions Deadline Approaching

The Festival of Independent Theatres is accepting submissions for its eleventh annual Festival through Tue., Mar. 3 at 6 pm. The Festival will open Jul. 17 and run through Aug. 8.

Submission guidelines are as follows:

• Submitting companies must be independent theatre companies (producing company must not have ownership or management control of a theatrical performance space, including educational institutions.
• Producing organization must have produced at least two prior productions.
• Organizations must be based in or execute the majority of the companies' performances in Dallas County.
• Script must be fifty minutes or less in performance time.
• Prior productions a company has produced in the past FIVE (5) years will not be accepted. Produced staged readings will be considered as long as not previously produced in a festival format.
• Submissions will be considered on the condition of the script at the time of the submittal deadline.
• At least one producing member of the submitting organization must be available to attend a festival orientation on Tuesday, Jun. 2, 2009 from 7-9 pm.

Submissions must be received by the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
