The View co-host Sherri Shepherd has scored herself a ticket to this year's Academy Awards.
Shepherd will be attending this year's Oscars ceremony as part of the cast of the film 'Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire'. 'Precious' has received six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Gabourey Sidibe and Best Support Actress for Mo'Nique, who is heavily favorite to win her contest.
Sherri Shepherd, who missed out on an individual Oscar nomination for 'Precious,' plays 'Cornrows,' a receptionist at the special education school that the main character attends. Oprah Winfrey, who has promoted the film 'Precious' heavily on her own daytime talk show, praised The View co-host's performance saying that she"didn't recognize" Sherri Shepherd in the role.
The Academy Awards will be held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California on Sunday, March 10, 2010 at 8:00PM EST.
