Shepherd says Adam Lambert has betrayed 'American Idol' fans (poll)
The shrews of The View laid back into Adam Lambert this morning regarding his provocative performance at the American Music Awards. The View Verbal-Diarrhea-Artist-in-Residence Sherri Shepherd said Adam Lambert betrayed his American Idol fans with his lewd behahvior at the AMAs.
Whoopi Goldberg defended Adam Lambert transition from the sugar-coated American Idol stage to the open market: "When you saw this kid on American Idol you knew he wasn't like anybody else. You knew he was going to be different."
Sherri Shepherd broke in with her signature dazed indignance: "Those people who were voting for him did not know that he was going to go and grind some man's head in his crotch."
Sherri Shepherd also subscribed to the double standard that Adam Lambert has been talking about so much since his AMA performance was edited out of rebroadcasts. Simple logic was no match for Shepherd in this battle: "I've seen Madonna over the years, so it doesn't surprise me that she reached and kissed Britney Spears. I'm used to Madonna.'
Barbara Walters summed up her own position on the matter by saying: "It was not in the best of tastes."

I was a huge fan of Adam's. I certainly do feel betrayed after spending hours voting for him because of his enormous talent and the sweetness and goodness he seemed to exhibit on AI. However, I can no longer be a fan after seeing his raunchy, offensive performance on Sunday and hearing his uncaring and insensitive remarks since the performance. Then you have his own mom saying that "It's all good" and that he's such an inspiration to people. Is she kidding? It's bad enough he offended so many of his fans (11 out of 11 in my family), but then he has the audacity to say he's not going to apologize even though he stated he could see why some may have been offended. So, he knows he offended fans that made his career possible, but no apology is in order? And then the remark "I'm not a babysitter". He betrayed the teenagers who voted for him and witnessed that filth. Sure not the same person we spent hours voting for. What a darn shame!!!!

It's a darn shame that you can't take any responsibility for YOUR lack of parenting and judgment. It was obvious from the moment Janet Jackson entered the stage that the show could be a little raunchy. You appear to be a 'holier-than-thou' stone thrower who is so unforgiving,you can't hear or see that he admitted to the Early Show that he went too far! You and Sherri'yeah Madonna's a star so kissing another girl's OK" Shepherd should get-together with that other uptight unforgiving so-called Christian (Elisabeth) and talk about all of the supposed 'holy preacher' men who have disgraced their religion because of 'intentional and sought-out' affairs (with women and men). Oh,but I guess that's different!! DS = Double Standard.

Who the hell is Sheperd and why does she feel she can speak for me? I am a huge fan of Adam Lambert and I back him 100%. I do not feel betrayed I loved his performance. This kid is a huge talent that will bring about a cultural revolution and he did nothing, ABSO-FREAKING-LUTLY NOTHING different than any other performer that night. Are you really going to try to say the two female artists who had their dancers knelt down at their crotches were any less sexual? Or the other two female artist who wore S&M catsuits were any less provocative? Or the female artists who grabbed the crotch of her male dancer, held it and aggressively shoved his face down wasn't any less showing her sexual ownership? Get real! You saw all that way before Adam came onto the stage. Shut your whinning and lack of parental responsibility and see this is a double standard. Everyone wants to ignore what the other artists did during the same venue and blame it all on Adam.
I feel betrayed and so do my daughters who are both in their 20's. We loved watching Adam perform on American Idol. In addition to appreciating his talent/gift of performing, I appreciated the respect he showed to the judges and us, the audience. His performance at the AMA was disrespectful to a large majority of his fan base. Now he's acting like he doesn't care what anybody thinks of him and that's such a disappointment. He'll go much further in his career if he remembers what everyone loved about him, his considerate, humble nature ... Not him acting like an ungrateful jerk.

So you are saying that its ok for female artist to be provocative? girl on girl kiss ok? pink rubing male dancers head in her crotch in 2004, jannet grabing male dancers crotch.If you are not supporting Adam in this difficult time than you were not the fan to begin with. He made a mistake,he was not trying to offend anyone,he use to perform for underground clubs to support himself while he was survive in his starving artist days,he made a poor judgement. I am sure everyone of the human on this earth has made mistakes and learned from it,its human to make mistake and learn and move on. Are you that perfect? If one of your kid made same mistake you would disown him or her? I feel like Adam is my son and will support him to the end, thats what real fan do,loyal fans stand up for their artist not kick them while they are down.

He was he is and he will always be the most talented guy that has ever been on Idol!! It's very painfull to see that bescause of sincerity a men can lose a competition that for him was almost won....I AM VERY Disappointed THAT SUCH A BRILLIANT PERSON CAN BE TRATED LIKE THAT JUST BECAUSE OF HIS SEXUALLITY!
If such an amezing human lost that show because of the stupid american people that did't get that the competition it's named AMERICAN IDOL not RELIGION IDOL it means that all the world it's starting get crazy in the most seriously way...
