David Goldman could give Sean Goldman back if adjustment is too difficult, says Sherri Shepherd

The View
beasts dragged poor innocent David Goldman and Sean Goldman into the gladiator ring that is The View Hot Topics segment on Wednseday.  The View co-host Sherri Shepherd gave an ultra bizarre statement about the recently reunited father and son:

"He was taken from his father," said Shepherd.  "It'd be different if he got him and the son couldn't make the adjustment, then it's up to the father to say: 'You know what-if I want to give him back or if I want to keep him."

David Goldman would probably be surprised by any implication that he might return Sean Goldman to his stepfather in Brazil after spending five years in international courts trying to regain custody of him after his biological mother died.

Joy Behar had a slightly more lucid perspective on the issue: "I think it's hard for the kid--he's used to a family and now he's going to be taken to new jersey instead of brazil so it's going to be a whole shock."

Behar's quip could be the understatement of the year.  David Goldman would be wise to keep young Sean Goldman away from the TV for a while-at least until Jersey Shore gets yanked.

    1) We do not need to set the precedent of returning children to their kidnappers despite the fact the child has become attached to or even loves the kidnappers.

    2) Of course there will be an adjustment period, but since David Goldman is looking out for the best interests of his child, the last place he would want him to be raised would be with Sean's narcissistic Brazilian relatives/step-father. I have no doubt they love him, but they don't seem to have the values and morals and character a caring parent would want their child to be raised with.

The way Sean was intentionally exposed to a media frenzy the day he was returned proves Sean's best interests aren't always at the fore re his stepfather. David said he'd let them visit Sean despite everything, which means David's foremost interest is Sean.

Put it this way: If I new of a child that was up for adoption, I would have no hesitation with David Goldman raising the child. The stepfather and Brazilian relatives, no way!
