Brittany Murphy's untimely death was the at the top of The View's "Day of Hot Topics" list on Monday morning. Whoopi Goldberg, who starred in the film 'Girl, Interrupted' with Brittany Murphy, opened the show with a statement about Brittany Murphy.
"A wonderful young actress passed away…a couple of days ago…aaah…or actually yesterday…aaah…Brittany Murphy. I did 'Girl, Interrupted' with her. Ahhh,...she passed after going into cardiac arrest in her L.A. home yesterday. She was just 32, and there were reports that went on the air that autopsies were underway right now and I just… she was a really great girl. She was a really good actress and fun…great sense of humor and really silly…really silly. And so I know that her parents probably are experiencing the worst thing you can experience as parents. So I just wanted to put my two cents out."
Whoopi Goldberg's fellow The View crones mumbled distractedly about the circumstances of Brittany Murphy's death, all looking a bit regretful that they didn't have Whoopi's first hand info on Brittany Murphy to cash in on.
Then,...off to a 20 minute discussion about Tiger Woods. It seems that Brittany Murphy's death was only enough to push Tiger Woods back to topic number three on The View. Perhaps if she had been found dead after being revealed as Tiger Woods Mistress #16, she might have made bigger news.
