Barnes and Noble in The Woodlands welcomed the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour tonight. Hundreds of fans enjoyed time with some of their favorite authors including Mortal Instruments author Cassandra Clare. Other Smart Chicks present tonight were Kelley Armstrong, Melissa Marr, Alyson Noel, Holly Black, and Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl and Rachel Vincent.
Anxious fans began sowing up at the Barnes and Noble as early as 9am. I left at 10pm and fans were still waiting to get autographs but I can assure you that for any young adult literature fans it is well worth the wait.
Before the panel discussion began at 7pm I had the opportunity to speak with Cassandra Clare. First of all, after phone interviews, it was a pleasure to finally meet her in person. To give you all an idea of how dedicated Clare is to her fans she went on with our interview and the event with a cold! I’m going to spend some more time with her tomorrow while the Smart Chicks tour stays in Houston for an evening with Blue Willow. I’m getting great answers to all of your questions.
As a teaser when asked who is the better fighter, Will or Jace Cassandra quickly answered Jace! Will Tessa play a major role in the upcoming Mortal Instruments books? Clare answered no but is amazed at how often this question comes up. And during the panel discussions when asked which of her characters is the better kisser the answer was Jace!
