If you noticed a moment last week, when everyone stopped and shook their heads in mass amazement, you were not hallucinating. Not to be undone by Hedi's album release last year, Spencer Pratt, the man-boy America loves to hate let the world hear his new single “I'm a Celebrity”. [Pause for reaction] His lyrics are painful references to Twitter, his wife, and “getting his swag on”. While it may ease the pain to realize that this song is a promo for his upcoming appearance on reality show, “I'm a Celebrity...Get me Out of Here!”, it is a scary thought that someone let Spencer Pratt into a studio in the first place. What's Hedi's take? She told US Magazine, “"Spencer Pratt is amazing," she said. "I'd love to get him on my album. He sings, he raps -- he does everything."
Pratt is taking this career move very seriously, having dubbed himself “The Great White”, he tells MTV.com “I'm the white Jay-Z in the game. I'm doing the baller thing. I'm more for the streets." However, in an interview with Complex Magazine, Pratt admitted to having zero talent, “"The bottom line is, if every single platinum song right now wasn't auto-tuned, then I would be like, 'I can't be a rapper.' The fact that I could get up to perfect pitch just like Kanye West, now, and T-Pain, it's an even playing field. I don't have to have talent. I just need to have auto-tune and be allowed to have the hottest track in the game, and my swag." Not a bad attitude, actually. Maybe the rest of the rap industry will wake up and get back to real music after hearing Pratt's perverted perception of Hip Hop.
