The Doors L.A. Woman
In a move that is long overdue, the Grammy Hall of Fame announced on November 24, 2009 that The Doors are inductees for the 2010 awards for Riders On The Storm. Riders On The Storm is off The Doors 1971 album L.A. Woman which also included the hits Love Her Madly, and the eponymous title track L.A. Woman. The album has been long considered a rock classic. In 2003 Rolling Stone Magazine cited it as one of the 500 Greatest Rock albums of all time.
The Doors are in good company with other inductees such as Louis Armstrong, Bo Diddley, James Brown, Jose Feliciano for his song Feliz Navidad (Feliciano also covered The Doors’ Light My Fire), The Isley Brothers, Janis Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Judy Garland, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
