The Steal of the Draft

Cosby is a draft sleeper. Courtesy:austinchronicle.com

Do you want a draft sleeper? Do you want a guy your team can pick up in the late rounds with great potential for a huge return on investment, a guy that could be a difference maker? Say hello to Quan Cosby. This guy is ROI.

Cosby was Mr. All-Everything at Mart High School in Central Texas. Out of high school, Cosby decided to give professional baseball a try before ending up at the University of Texas three years later to play football.

Cosby quickly went from baseball prospect to Big 12 Standout receiver. The most amazing stat: Cosby only dropped three passes in his entire career at Texas. Terrell Owens would kill for a set of hands like that. QC is not 6’4”, 230-pound beast and that will hurt him this weekend. What he is is a play-maker. A couple of his best games last season were against the Longhorns best opponents. He torched Oklahoma and absolutely knifed through the Ohio State defense in the Fiesta Bowl, to the tune of 14 catches for 171 yards and two scores.

Cosby may be under 6-feet tall and he may not be blindingly fast but he will make a difference on an NFL roster.

Here’s the bottom line: Cosby is smart, really smart. He already knows what it is like to be a professional athlete. He’s small but has proven he can produce on the field results. He doesn’t drop passes so he makes the most of every opportunity. He’s versatile, he can return kicks and be an excellent wide out. He’s gifted, he’s being overlooked and Cosby will be a solid NFL contributor for years to come.
