Corrido is now in Arizona and Herradura has a new website.
Here are two exciting developments from two great tequilas:
Tequila Corrido is now available in the state of Arizona
On Wednesday, February 17, Scottsdale, Arizona-based Tequila Corrido announced the launch of Tequila Corrido in the Arizona market, just in time for “National Margarita Day” (next Monday, Febuary 22, 2010). The double-distilled Tequila Corrido Cristalino (Blanco) and Corrido Extra Añejo, a single-barrel tequila aged for a minimum of 3 years in American oak barrels are now available in the Grand Canyon State, with Corrido Reposado and Corrido Añejo to become available in late February.
To celebrate the launch and gain visibility in the state, Tequila Corrido will offer exclusive in-store tasting of Cristalino and Extra Añejo at AZ Wine Company at its South Store, located at 2515 N. Scottsdale Road. AZ Wine customers will also have the opportunity to meet Brad Hoover (Vice President of True Blue Imports, LLC, the importer of Corrido) to learn about the story of Corrido and its production method, including the single barrel aging technique.
The tequila has already received several awards including “Best of Show” and “Best of Category” at New York Spirits Awards, Gold Award at Spirits of Mexico, and Gold Medal at International Review of Spirits. The Beverage Tasting Institute gave 93 points to both the Cristalino and Extra Añejo. Tequila.net rated the Cristalino 94 points for its smoothness and 95 points for the Extra Añejo. In my own tasting notes and review I wrote, “Corrido is a formidable new kid on the tequila block . High quality and delicious, distinct flavor are something that Tequila Corrido has plenty of.”
New website for Tequila Herradura
One of the world’s oldest brands of tequila, Herradura, just launched a redesigned website that aims to educate consumers about the tequila heritage and craft that has defined the brand during the last 140 years. Some portions of the site are not unique to Herradura (drinking etiquette and cocktail recipes), so well-versed tequila drinkers may want to skip to the portions that are the most unique:
- the all-natural tequila production process at Casa Herradura
- how to differentiate between the various Herradura expressions (blanco, reposado, añejo and Selección Suprema)
- and, best of all, the saga, legends and mysteries of Herradura’s Hacienda San Jose del Refugio in Amatitán, Mexico
The new site, created by Clickspring Design, Inc., features brightly-hued photographs that pop against dark wallpaper, subtly enhanced by intricate papel picado, or perforated paper, designs by Mexican artist Margarita Fick.
“…it was important for us that our revamped Web site exudes the essence of Tequila Herradura,” said John Hayes, managing director for Casa Herradura Tequilas. “We’re confident that the updated portal not only provides consumers with an intimate look at our brand, but also plays up the importance of toasting to those who have come before us."
