Cold in Colorado? Drink tequila! Coloradans can now warm the body and spirit with Republic Tequila, a 100% blue agave, certified organic tequila previously only available in Texas.

Republic is a bold and smooth tequila made from estate grown blue agave and distilled at the green-conscious La Quemada distillery with a process that includes no foreign yeasts or chemicals, and where all byproducts of production are recycled in order to protect the environment and contribute back to the ecosystem.

“One thing for sure, Texans love Colorado. We love the skiing, the natural beauty, the cities and the people. So it is only natural that we would share Republic Tequila with our friends in Colorado… our first state for expansion,” said Tom Nall, CEO and Founder of Republic Tequila.

Coloradans can find Republic Plata, Reposado, and Añejo for sale in bars, restaurants, and liquor stores in Denver, Fort Collins and Boulder, where Zolo Southwestern Grill hosted Republic Tequila’s centennial state debut.

Co-founder Ken MacKenzie adds, “I am thrilled to be sharing my passion, Republic Tequila, with the great folks of Colorado. I know they will it enjoy it just as much as Texans have.”

If you are not a resident of Colorado or Texas, don’t fret! You can enter Republic Tequila’s “Grow One for the Republic” mustache contest and have a chance to win a trip for two to any destination in Texas valued at $1,000.

“Tequila and mustaches have long been a part of Texas history. Think about it, all the good cowboys have a mustache, and they all drink tequila. It only makes sense to celebrate these things together,” notes Nall.

If you don’t have one, grow one; and get creative with it! Entries must be submitted with the grower’s name, date of birth, city and state of residence, and, of course, their best mustache picture to info@RepublicTequila.com by February 26, 2010. Winners will be announced in celebration of Texas Independence Day on March 2, 2010.

I love tequila and would love to visit Texas (my home state!), but I fear that I cannot grow a very impressive mustache, lol!
