The Tennessee Titans released the list of players who were cut from their roster yesterday to reach the NFL mandatory limit of 53 players to start the season.
Some of the veteran players released included quarterback Chris Simms, running back Samkon Gado and defensive end Raheem Brock.
Also cut were rookie draft picks safety Myron Roolle and defensive end David Howard, however both are likely to wind up back on the 8 man practice squad roster that will be released shortly.
There is also the chance that the Titans might be interested in players released by other teams and could bring some of those in as early as Monday.
The Titans also added linebacker David Thornton to the Physically Unable to Perform List (PUP) and linebacker Gerald McRath to the Reserve/Suspended list which will allow them to carry two more players for the next 4 weeks while McRath completes his 4 game suspension and 6 weeks for Thornton.
