Not all shows make it back, and My Name is Earl is officially one that didn't

Yesterday, the West Palm Beach Television Examiner reported on the rumored rush of Chuck´s new season after the show had been cancelled by NBC and then brought back to life thanks to fans and followers. Today, sadly, the news goes the other way around: My Name is Earl is, all signs point to it, gone for good.

First there were talks of the show having a chance to return on TBS.  Obviously, the comedy fronted by Jason Lee was a popular one, one that could have been worth resuscitating. And, furthermore, there were the clamors of saddened fans of the next door loser who was trying to make things right in his life, all asking to bring him back to their small screens. However, in what boiled down to be a question of budget and nothing else, the show’s production studio, Twentieth Century Fox Television, released a statement saying that the talks with TBS are no longer.

In that statement, the already widely quoted line which stated that, “in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series,” made Fox’s position clear: TBS could not afford My Name is Earl “as is”, and the studio refused to make any changes in favor of the show’s restitution.

Yeah, Kyle, I'm having withdrawal symptoms myself. I really am sad - this has been my favorite series since it began! It had more seasons in it.
