One of the new shows in NBC's fall lineup is Community, comedy starring The Soup host Joel McHale and veteran actor Chevy Chase, recently seen in Chuck as Apple's Steve Jobs.
Created by Dan Harmon (The Sarah Silverman Program) and Emmy winning directors Joe and Anthony Russo (Arrested Development), Community is about "a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College," and form a study group as diverse as community college classes can be.
Besides McHale and Chase, the show stars Gillian Jacobs (The Book of Daniel), Yvette Nicole Brown (Rules of Engagement), Greek's Danny Pudi (Greek), Mad Men's Alison Brie, 30 Rock's Donald Glover, and The Hangover's Ken Jeong as the Spanish professor, Señor Chang.
In a surprising, but seemingly very smart marketing move, NBC has decided to post the entire pilot of Community on Facebook instead of the more usual Hulu or YouTube. The catch? You have to become a fan of the Community page to have access. An invitation to tell your friends about the show before you see the pilot apears on screen, but that one can be skipped. The pilot will be available to U.S. residents only and for a limited time, with 84 hours left at the time this article was being written.
Community premieres on Thursday, September 17th at 9.30pm EST on NBC.
