New Moon's vampire Ashley Greene will be a fashion correspondent at the upcoming 2009 Video Music Awards, where Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are also scheduled to appear.
MTV confirms that the very stylish Ashley Greene will be the event's celebrity fashion correspondent during the VMA preshow, which will begin at 8pm EST on September 13th, one hour before the main event. From the red carpet, the actress also recognized as Alice Cullen, her vampire character, will report with "live updates about what everyone's wearing and chatting with celebs as they make their way into Radio City Music Hall for the show."
MTV News correspondents Sway and Tim Kash will be on the same red carpet interviewing celebrities, while reporters Jim Cantiello and Kim Stolz will be inside the venue "hunting down show secrets and giving live updates of the crazy behind-the-scenes prep for the big event." Furthermore, MTV News' first-ever Twitter correspondent, Justine Ezarik — a.k.a. iJustine, "Internet comedienne and proud holder of over 620,000 Twitter followers", will be "integrating Twitter updates into the TV broadcast in a way you've truly never seen before," with not just "a plain old scroll of tweets, but a live visualization of trends" which, they say, "promises to be very cool."
As is known, Ashley Greene's Twilight and New Moon costars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will make an appearance at the VMAs to present an exclusive trailer for the new movie of the vampire saga.
The lineup of performers includes Janet Jackson (with a tribute to her brother, Michael Jackson), Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Pink, Taylor Swift, Muse, and maybe even Alicia Keys. Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Miranda Cosgrove will present awards.
With new technology that will allow chatting with the hot and famous from their very hotel rooms as they get ready to go to the event, this year's VMAs promise to be full of surprises and celebrity-infused fun.
The 2009 Video Music Awards, hosted by Russell Brand, air live on September 13th at 9pm EST on MTV.
