Monty Python on Independent Film Channel in October

Monty Python fans have something to rejoice about this month. The Independent Film Channel (IFC) is airing a brand new, 6 part, documentary series, "Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut)". The documentary will air from October 18 - 23, 2009. That same week, IFC will also be airing a "Week of Monty Python Movies" featuring Monty Python: Live at the Hollwood Bowl, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian.

The documentary is a retelling on the Python experience from start to finish. Even the titles of the six episodes reveal their humor:

Ep. 4: The Ultimate Holy Grail Episode

The documentary features interviews with all the remaining Monty Python members - John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. There is also archive representation for the late Graham Chapman. Also appearing in the documentary are - Jimmy Fallon, Lorne Michaels, Hugh Hefner, Eddie Izzard, Olivia Harrison, Steven Merchant, Dan Aykroyd, Tim Roth and Seth Green, among many others.

Each episode of Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut) will be one hour and will air at 9pm on IFC on the evenings of October 18 -23, 2009. Even more exciting, on October 15th, there will be a Monty Python reunion at the Ziegfeld Theater in Manhattan to promote the documentary and to celebrate their 40th anniversary. BAFTA (The British Academy of Television Arts) will be give the Python members a special award to honor their achievements. Check the Monty Python Facebook page for a chance to win tickets.
