Landing a work at home gig can seem like the perfect solution to all of your problems. If your kids were already in daycare then you should be all set. But what happens if you are going from fulltime care provider to working from home?
If you find you need childcare in order to work, but you can’t afford it, there are several options.
What if I can’t afford childcare?
- If you are married, consider working opposite shifts from your spouse. Being a telecommuter makes this an extremely feasible option.
- Consider nanny sharing
- Join a childcare co-op
- Hire a babysitter for a few hours per day. This can save you money while allowing you to have a few hours of interrupted work.
