Too many distractions to work from home? Have you ever worked in an office?

Look at these people. You can't work here!

I'm always amazed when people tell me that they could never work from home because there are too many distractions.

I want to ask them: Have they ever worked from an office? There are more distractions in any office than there are at your home. And I say this as someone who works at home with two young children home most of the time.

When I worked from my publishing office in downtown Chicago, I was lucky to get through 20 minutes of work without a distraction. The salesman in the cubicle next door would ask me how to spell "occassionally."
