Teenagers become more concerned
with their appearance
Teenage Girls
Girls by this point have pretty much reached their full height. Breast development will be completed in this stage. Teenage girls become dissatisfied with their body shape and many will diet. Eating disorders are prevalent in the teenage years, especially when there is a lot of peer pressure to look a certain way. Girls will be overly concerned with their appearance, primping and preening in front of mirrors, applying makeup and feeling self-conscious.
Teenage Boys
Boys have not quite completed their physical growth, although they are getting close. Boys will experience a change in the pitch of their voice. The voice will get deeper and stronger during this period. Boys will gain muscle mass and the body will fill out / bulk up. They will become more concerned with their appearance, although this usually translates into spending more time in the weight room. Teenage boys can now produce mature sperm and will typically experience nocturnal emissions, or wet dreams. Facial hair will be more pronounced.
