Great ideas for your teenager's Easter basket

So your teen isn’t exactly expecting Peter Cottontail to hop on down the bunny trail this year? That’s okay. Even “mature” teenagers will enjoy a basket of thoughtful treats and small gifts. In fact, maintaining family traditions (with some adjustments for age) is a great way to stay connected with your kids. Below are 5 great ideas for your teenager’s Easter Basket!

Bag the basket: Does your teenager need a beach bag, a new gym bag or a laundry basket for their room? Get creative with your Easter “basket” containers.   A few ribbons and some tissue paper can make any item look festive!

Chocolate Bunny blues: While many teens still enjoy candy, cheap chocolate bunnies and jelly beans isn’t the best idea. For teenagers, less is more. A few gourmet truffles, and a small package of Jelly Belly’s will help your teens with the concept of quality over quantity.

Like fragrant flowers: Toiletries are a great addition to an Easter Basket. Boys like Axe products. For girls, aromatic shampoos, conditioners and bubble baths will also make a nice addition to the basket. Tom's of Maine is a great choice if you’d like all natural products. And, while you’re at the pharmacy, why not throw in a new toothbrush, toothpaste and floss? (Those jelly beans can get sticky!)

Writes of spring: Your kids are more than halfway through the school year and their September supplies must be dwindling. Some colorful pens, paper and even a new binder will fill up that Easter basket, and fill-out that backpack!

Hip-hop isn’t just for bunnies: Small gift certificates are always a hit. A simple $5.00 iTunes card will be greatly appreciated. Or, consider small gift certificates to Starbucks, the local movie theater or the ice cream shop.

Teenagers are sometimes just little kids in big kids' bodies. A sweet and fun Easter basket will brighten their day and help keep a family tradition intact.
