Summit Entertainment released the official New Moon trailer today. The one minute and 45 seconds-long clip features an interview with star Taylor Lautner. "Jacob is the friend that will always be there for her," Lautner says about the relationship with the film's heroine Bella Swan and his character Jacob Black.

The studio released the trailer during the Vanessa Hudgens film Bandslam, released last Friday. A leaked version of the New Moon trailer hit the Web soon after. Other highlights of the film trailer include a kiss between Stewart and Robert Pattinson, Dakota Fanning as vampire Jane, and the Wolf Pack. Watch the trailer below:
