Trending on Twitter
Sports fans, and football fans in particular are huge on Twitter. We wrote recently about one of the newly released iPhone apps that allows you to follow top football stars without even signing on to Twitter. Products like these are becoming more and more popular as sports fans want to hear directly from their sources - be it the players themselves, viewers or the live bloggers.
Football and other sports fans are not just following the game - they are also writing about the games they are watching in short bytes (witness Brett Favre's return and Brandon Marshall's suspension from the Broncos) and it is great to watch their enthusiasm. Perhaps even better than a commentary is a Twitter feed of the game, and millions of sports fans are doing exactly that. Banning social media from the stadiums has not worked very well, witness the SEC's unsuccessful attempt to ban social media and their subsequent reversal.
Right now the biggest thing on Twitter is the Broncos vs. the Bears. The Denver Broncos are hosting the Chicago Bears tonight in the third preseason game for both teams at Invesco Field at Mile High. #Bears, #Broncos, and #Jay Cutler are all trending. Interestingly enough there are a lot of Cutler fans, among both camps.

As of this time, Bears are up 17-3 at half time and Bears fans are already celebrating. Looks like the game will be called first by the Twitterers before anybody else!

I tell you the Broncos lost by far their best player as evident by today's game. Cutler pulled off a signature Elway drive with 10 times the arm power! That greedy owner Pat Bowlen must of crapped himself when he traded Cutler. What a laugh Denver has become.
