Here's another product I recently received to review from Coolermaster. This one is the Choiix Ergonomic Metal Sleeve for 12"/13" notebooks. For those of you that haven't been keeping up with my prior reviews, Choiix is a play on words with the French word Choix. Choix means "Choice". The extra "i" is added to give it a techy flare. In keeping with this Choice theme, this Ergonomic Metal Sleeve comes in brown or green and the product itself has different functions. I'll go over each function separately below.
Carrying Case
The main purpose of the sleeve is, well, to be a sleeve. That was obvious enough, but this is a reinforced sleeve so your notebook is more secure. The bottom side and the straps on this unit are green, the inside is gray and made of a soft fabric to prevent scratches. It features Velcro straps that feed through holes to form a user adjustable tight grip on your notebook. I found in testing that the straps were somewhat easy to feed through the holes with a laptop inside, but that depends on the dexterity of the user. I have large hands that can sometimes grip a basketball so I think I'm a good test for that function. The adjustable straps allow the sleeve to account for variations in notebook thickness. I didn't have a 12" or 13" notebook, nor could I steal/borrow one from a friend so I tested this with a 10" Lenovo S10 netbook I use. I was able to easily secure the straps to hold the S10 in place with minimal sliding so I imagine that it would be easy to hold a larger laptop within the confines of the sleeve. I even gave the sleeve a good shaking and jerking to see if I could loosen its grip on my netbook or make one of the Velcro straps fail, but it was to no avail. So the carrying case purpose is fulfilled. On to the next function!

Ergonomic Stand
This sleeve, when placed on a desk with proper chair height, posture, hand/arm positioning, and all that fun stuff an ergonomic advisor should be telling you to do, will provide an ergonomic angle for more comfortable typing. I've tested this, but unfortunately I prefer typing in a less ergonomic fashion so it was a bit uncomfortable to me. I can't blame the sleeve for my poor workstation layout and preferred typing angle. I'd imagine it would take some getting used to like most things that are good for you.
