Yes, Data Modelers, dreams do come true. In case you haven't heard CA ERwin is sporting its own website now.   In October 2009, CA unveiled ERwin.com a website dedicated exclusively to data modeling.   This is a data modeler's dream, because, if you know any data modelers you are probably aware they are the most unappreciated 'designers' in most any corporation. Most data modelers can give testimonials about incidents of giving their best expert commentary in a development session only to be met with blank stares and not even honorable mention, after a project's completion.  So having a website devoted to data modelers has to be the next best thing to having their own kingdom.

At ERwin.com, data modelers from all corners of the world can commune and collaborate in an environment that only they can appreciate to the fullest extent. Nonetheless, ERwin.com is not just for data modelers, it  can also serve as a viable resource for non-data modelers to speak the same language and comprehend the world of data modeling, if they so choose.   Donna Burbank, Director of Product Marketing for CA ERwin expresses it much better in her own words:

“The CA ERwin team is very excited about the launch of the new erwin.com.  Many of our
customers, particularly our active user group members, have been involved with the product
for many years and have rich expertise with data modeling and ERwin.  With this new site,
we have a fresh venue to come together as a community to share ideas and build thought
leadership around data modeling.”

Dan Dechichio, Certified Data Management Professional(CDMP) and Solutions Architect for Raymond James, St. Petersburg, Florida, is President of SEEMUG which is the CA Modeling Global User Community.   SEEMUG holds quarterly user meetings which are broadcast live on web meetings.  While the meetings are held from specific locations each time, the web meeting enables users across the nation to experience the presentations first hand.  Its an educational and enlightening experience.  ERwin expert and Principal Product Manager, Neil Buchwalter will be presenting at the next user meeting.  There is still time to join up and become part of the experience.  The next meeting will be December 8, 2009, broadcast live from New York  and Tampa on your personal computer and the announcement is forthcoming so be sure to return here for details.
