Fuze Black and Green Tea with Acai Berry

Fuze Black and Green Tea with Acai Berry
Fuze is known for beverages “infused” with healthy stuff.  Black and Green Tea with Acai berry is one of the 5 flavors in their tea line.

This drink has an impressive 122 mg of polyphenols,126 mg of vitamin C, and 34 mg of B complex vitamins. Even more astonishing is that each 16.9 fl oz bottle is equivalent to 2 servings of vegetables.

While it boasts a healthful pedigree, this drink gets two thumbs down for taste. It is like that grape-flavored medicine your mother had to force down your throat when you were sick. Mercifully, it isn’t thick like cough syrup. It’s like a slightly syrupy kool aid.

The drink should have been called Acai Berry with black and green tea. The berry flavor easily dominates the more subtle green and black tea flavors. This wouldn’t be my first pick as a thirst quencher. You’d need to chase this down with a drink of water.

There are a lot of bottled tea drinks out in the market. Most are like soda drinks hiding behind a tea label. Fuze Black and Green Tea with Acai Berry is clearly better than those quasi-tea drinks mainly because of the vitamins and nutrients it offers. But as far as taste goes, it leaves much to be desired.

I'd go for just a blend of Green and Black Tea. Those exotic berries are going to be hard to mix in with the taste. Not only that, but they'll drive up the cost of the drink. They're unnecessary. Blending the different kinds of tea is enough because Green and Black have different kinds of antioxidants. Who needs more?

I agree Jason. The berry addition was overkill.

Two thumbs down for taste? Cough syrup? I beg to differ. No glass of water is needed to chase this down, for me at least.

Sorry Rose, when was the last time you tried grape cough syrup? This drink is nothing like that at all, it is delicious.

To all who like this drink: All I can say is I'll agree to disagree. Still not a fan. But if you like it, good for you. In San Diego, Henry's and Von's still stock this drink.

You can't really criticize the flavor of something just because your taste buds are not functioning properly. To each their own, you know? I'll give it to you, the acai berry combo with tea was kinda weird, but it is NOT THAT bad c'mon... It goes smooth down the hatch...
