Quality organic tea -- iced or hot -- in Sacramento: Hina's Tea

There's something special about Hina Soni's lovely tea cafe' that a Tea Lover can appreciate.   The tea, yes, but even more so, the people behind the counter love tea just as much as I do.  Every time I walk into Hina's the person behind the counter is not only knowledgeable, but simply radiates with the love for tea.  It is evident in their words, faces, tone of voice and mannerisms as they talk about tea and make a recommendation. For the Tea Lover, like myself, it's so invigorating that I cannot get enough.

Upon walking in to Hina's, husband in tow, we are drawn directly to the back counter where they have row upon row of jars filled with delightful tea choices.  So diverse in fact, that it's sometimes difficult to choose, but I'm not complaining!  We are greeted by Beth, who's always in a cheery disposition, and we enjoyed chatting her up about watching teas steep in the cup.  The fact that they also watch tea steep, really lets me know how much they care about their tea.  Watching your tea steep gives you an appreciation for the miracle you are about to drink.  She recommended the Artisan Tea list and it was then that fate decided that I meet up with their White Tea Flower Symphony.

What a beautiful unraveling to behold!  The White Tea Flower Symphony held up to its name.   It was delightfully light and crisp, with a deep sense of knowing, and the lovely sweet jasmine flower speaks on the finish.  This tea was definitely singing to me and I sang right back.

My husband chose his favorite, the iced Apple Mango Rooibos.  Of course, I had to have a sip (okay more like two or three).  How else can I describe this tea?  Yummy, yummy, and oh yes, yummy!  My husband has a sweet tooth and he adds some of their wonderful cane juice syrup, but this one is sweet on it's own.    The combination of apple and mango flavor are freshly fruity without being overbearing, as the Rooibos wraps around them like it was a surprise birthday present.   One is sure to appreciate the balance of this blend.  Warning though: after a sip of this over ice, you may find yourself wanting to kick off your shoes and go barefoot for the rest of the day, looking to enjoy summer like children do.

Great kudos for Hina's. It is one of my favorite tea places as well.
