Bits & pieces of local tea news:
1. Holiday specials are in full swing at Argo Tea. Seasonal drink "White FrostTea Chocolate", a blend of white tea, steamed milk, and chocolate is available at all Argo Tea locations. Also, Argo Tea's ChariTea partner this month is The Greater Chicago Food Depository. ChariTea is a special drink made of hibiscus, vanilla and cherry juice, and a charity is selected each month to receive a percentage of its sales.
2. Mail order tea retailer Adagio is looking to start opening brick & mortar shops, and Chicago is slated as the location of its first store. Check out the article on World Tea News for more information.
3. Dream About Tea is extending its offer of free shipping on orders of $10 or more with coupon code DECFREESHIP. Visit Dream About Tea's online store to take advantage of this special offer. Also, please check out my recent video on their "house brand" Yixing teapots.
4. The newly renovated Jewel Food Store at 1128 Chicago Avenue in Evanston has added a ton of new teas to its organic food section: Numi, Ambassador Organics, and Zhena's Gypsy Tea are just a few of the great brands available. Please note that Jewel has two tea sections: One in the middle of the store (which contains "normal" brand such as Bigelow and Lipton) and then this organic aisle which is right next to the produce section.
5. There is a new tea company in town! Shui Tea is owned by Chicagoian Jim Schreiber, and he has some fun teas for sale on his site. He is also available for tea consulting and tea events.
