The Kama Sutra and love positions

Did you know that being able to change your position while lovemaking can enhance your ability to have an orgasm? Especially for women, being willing to move your body in subtle ways can make all the difference between okay sex and fabulous sex. We all know that variety is the spice of life, and it is true that when it comes to sex what will keep your lovemaking even more alive, energized, and stimulating for both of you is to try new positions.

The Kama Sutra is probably the most famous book regarding positions for lovemaking, but it is not necessary to learn a lot of different positions.  If you wish to know more about the Kama Sutra you can go to: www.spaceandmotion.com/kamasutra-positions.htm.  You’ll find your lovemaking takes on new dimensions when you try even a few variations of the ones that you probably already know. You don’t have to be a yogi and twist yourself into a pretzel to bring some variety into your lovemaking. What really makes the difference for women is the subtle change in movement that can be made more as an adjustment in angle and that can provide you with just the right touch to give you greater sensation and pleasure. And for men it is often the thrusting pattern and angle as well that can not only enhance her pleasure but yours as well.

In Tantric lovemaking remember that you first want to establish your connection with your partner through taking the time to eye gaze with each other, connect through synchronized breathing and to gently touch each other. In fact it is these three things that will release the neurotransmitters oxytocin and dopamine into your system and prepare your body for the next level of play.

Positions happen in your visioning mind first and when you bring consciousness to sex, when you bring your awareness into the lovemaking process, the better capability you will have in healing and improving your ecstatic pleasure and in the understanding of your body in various states of arousal.

It is very important for a woman to really take the time to get to know what she likes and dislikes in different positions, what angle feels really good and is a turn-on for your body and what isn’t. It is perfectly okay to ask your partner to shift his body so that your Goddess Spot is rubbed just perfectly.

.

So it is essential that women be given total support by the men in their lives and feel empowered by them to explore what subtle shifts in movement will make the biggest difference in their ability to have greater pleasure. I encourage women to experiment without thinking and to just become a witness to whatever is happening without judging it. This may take some training on your part to really get out of your head and into your body. Cultivate your ability to witness what feels good or not. What shift in position enhances your pleasure and what doesn’t.

There are six essential positions that you and your partner may wish to try each have their own variations and include breathing, touch and eye gazing.   They are called, Shiva on Top, Splitting Bamboo, Cuddle Position, Piercing Tiger, Shakti on Top and Yab Yum.  For more detailed descriptions and instructions on these Tantric positions you can go to www.tantra.com.  If you become a premier member you can receive many hours of instruction in tantric lovemaking, including a variety of positions.

Remember that in Tantric lovemaking everything you do is held within the sacred container you create with your lover. Exploration, experimentation and learning how to communicate are all of equal importance. But so is laughter, an attitude of playfulness and expressing your pure delight in being with each other.
