The Tampa Yankees sure have rebounded from a disappointing 6-0 loss in Lakeland on Friday night. The T-Yanks were able to defeat the Lakeland Flying Tigers were on Saturday evening in front of a crowd of over 2,300 fans at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
Young pitcher Adam Warren pitched a perfect game for nearly six whole innings before giving up a hit to Lakeland center fielder Christopher White. Tampa had a team total of 9 hits and Catcher Mitch Abeita, center fielder Abraham Almonte, and Shortstop Jose Pirela all performed solidly on the offense helping earn the 2 runs necessary for the victory.
Switch-pitching prospect Pat Venditte relieved Warren in the top of the 7th inning and was also able to keep the Flying Tigers from obtaining a hit. The Tampa Yankees lead this series 2 -1 and will travel back to Lakeland for one last game in this series at 1:00 pm on Sunday April 11, 2010 at Joker Merchant Stadium in Lakeland.
