The Tampa Yankees finished up a 4 game series against the Lakeland Flying Tigers by winning 3-0. Along with a strong showing from the offense, starting pitcher Daniel Kapala had a solid outing. The twenty-four year old who was drafted out of Notre Dame in the 2007 MLB Draft, allowed only 1 hit and 2 walks in the 4 innings pitched. In the bottom of the 5th inning Kapala was replaced by reliever Craig Heyer who would only give up 2 hits in 2 innings.
Strong offense performances were displayed by Abraham Almonte, Jose Pirela, Neil Medchill, and Bradley Suttle. After winning this series against Lakeland 3 games to 1, the Tampa Yankees will now travel to Bright House Field to play the Clearwater Threshers. The first game will be Monday, April 12, 2010 at 7:00 pm.
