In the latest chapter of the saga of the University of South Florida doctor, professor and associate vice president accused of stealing a doctoral student’s bicycle, Dr. Abdul Rao has contacted university officials and rescinded his resignation. In an e-mail, Rao writes: I am convinced that the conditions under which the resignations were obtained were extremely unfavourable not giving me ample time to think through this very important decision. I was given no option to consult a lawyer or a member of my family and was informed that I either resign or else. In the e-mail addressed to Stephen Klasko, Senior Vice President of USF Health and Dean of the USF College of Medicine, Rao also says: I am convinced that the outcome is not compatible with the level of the infraction and has placed my professional and personal life in serious conundrum. I suggest that the University complete its investigation and a judgement is made which is compatible with the committed infraction. I am certain that it would not amount to a call for resignation with a severance of six weeks and a professional life totally destroyed. I plan to defend my innocence and make every effort to preserve my professional life and my integrity. Dr. Rao could be seen on a surveillance tape that's been posted on YouTube, with another man, Vernon Waiters, removing a bike from the loading dock area of the Johnnie B. Byrd Alzheimer's Center & Research Institute on the USF campus in Tampa. USF spokesman Michael Hoad says the university will not retain Rao. "He is not an employee of the university and will not be an employee of the university," Hoad said. "Our position is his employment is over. He can have his attorney call our attorneys."

now this is more like it. We are on ur side dr., don't go out without a fight. Don't bend to the whims of ppl like ganshaft, klasko or evn that joke getting his 5 seconds of fame timothy boyd. Wen u rise again do it with another university and don't feel pity 4 usf when it crumbles away due to lack of administrative vision. Ganshaft u will regret this, a true president actually works mayb now u can have a taste of that life.
You wonder why USF has stayed where it was when Genshaft started despite major investmentsby the state. This is why -her strategy to get rid of good people so she can take credit for all good. There was a Engineering Dean, MartinVega that she did this to. He was taking engineering to the top with all faculty behind him and she took him down. Look where engineering is sinking now.
Genshaft - Klasko ain't gonna do you no good. Fire him with cause and then resign yourself. Sometimes your last magnanimous act becomes your legacy.
I don't know what you're talking about. I don't see Judy Genshaft on that video tape stealing a bike. Actions have repercussions.
He's a thief, but a clever one. He feels he deserves more money because his huge ego demands it. USF should have fired him. Instead they gave him $50,000 that he used to hire a greedy lawyer looking for a BIG payday. So USF will now pay and pay and pay. For what?
Did Dr. Rao do a stupid thing - for sure, yes. Did he lie, cheat, deceive, coerce - not at all. Look at the sorry figures Dillingham and Boyd - and it will quickly be clear that these are individuals that have been manipulated. Boyd is now bringing taperecorder and attorneys to speak to USF authorities. He has learned quick -that he is next. Why else would he be so cautious? He has been used and now they will throw him to the dogs. He was not forced to withdraw his complaint - Dr. Rao made an honest request of him after explaining the situation. It is possible that Boyd's dirty game will not come out this time - but it will come out one day. And he may not know anything about the things Dr. Rao did to improve quality for the graduate students - he is busy with mischief and drawing attention to himself. 39 years old and still meandering in graduate school - that should tell you all. Go check his website and you will realize he has been there forever. Now his advisor Potter may owe him one and grant him his degree. Corrupt, Mr. Potter. So, use some commonsense and you will see a new picture.

Orders at USF by chairs especially by Potter: No one should write any positive letters to Genshaft or Klasko about Rao. Is this not tampering? No one stopped the negative publicity.They are trying to prevent positive support .

The next news in times would be another scandal about staff that you would have concoted. You should be worrying about your own salary not what others make. Someone finds their credentials good enough to pay them the due amount. Anyways, there is always some dirty fish like you in the pond that makes it stink. I do not even know who the staff is , so dont even bother making your cheap remarks.
