SyFy Channel has done it again. In their recent press release, SyFy.com announced 7 new series scripted for future lineups featuring projects from Kevin Sorbo, Lee Majors, the Sanctuary Creative Team, and Universal Cable Productions.

SyFy Channel has a foundation of solid ratings and critical acclaim for their hit series Warehouse 13, Eureka, and their latest, Haven.

Mark Stern, Executive Vice President, Programming, Syfy, and Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions, said: "One of our key agendas is to continue the extraordinary growth and momentum of our popular dramas. Through partnerships with these formidable talents, in front of and behind the camera, we hope to expand our powerful brand by offering our viewers an imaginative next generation of programming."

Some of the new shows are:

Ball & Chain -- As the name implies, this story revolves around a couple, Edgar and Mallory, who have quit their relationship, or so they thought. A meteorite crashes to Earth in a near miss to our unloving couple, that imbues them with extraordinary powers . . . but only when they are close to each other. (I'm visualizing my X-husband in glow-in-the-dark green tights. . . no, we won't go there.) Of course, being together is the last thing either of them want, but they must overcome their personal woes to battle maniacle other-worldly forces. (OK, the word "maniacle" was my own.) This from producers Bob Cooper and J. J. Jamieson for Landscape Entertainment.

Me and Lee -- a half-hour series staring Jamie Kennedy and Lee Majors who lures an ailing 20-something man into his laboratory (Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly), where Majors performs a bionicism to get the poor man's life back on track. (Seeds of The Six Million Dollar Man). Also in this show is one of my favorite actors, John Billingsley (from Stargate SG-1 "The Other Guys" and in Star Trek: Enterprise, he played the medical officer, Dr. Phlox). Executive Producers/Writers are Matthew Salzberg (Fortunes)  and Jenji Kohan (writer and creator for Weeds).

Orion -- Stalked by bounty hunters, this "adventurous female relic and her team" hunt down, and sometimes steal, black market objects. Billed as "National Treasure meets Firefly" by SyFy.com, this should be a rolicing fun show, hopefully capturing the magic of Firefly, who's characters are legendary, and fill the Galactica void. Producers/Writers are Dirk Blackman and Howard McCain.

Sherwood -- Yes, family and family woes follow you into space. Not your usual Sherwood Forest, as space is the setting for this 23rd century romp of a "privileged young man who teams up with a misfit spaceship crew to right the wrongs of his family. " This "Robin Hood in Space" (but don't say it like "Pigs in Spaaace") tale should bring the myth to the future in style. The writer is Damian Kindler with a stellar staff of Executive Producers: Damian Kindler (Sanctuary writer), Martin Wood (director for Stargate: Continuum), and Amanda Tapping for My Plastic Badgers Productions.

Legendary -- Want to see Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) play a former version of himself? Sure you do. Now, here's your chance.  Like Lee Majors, Sorbo will play Kevin Sorbo (sound familiar?), a former syndicated television series star (how hard can that be?). Sorbo (the actor in the show, not the actor playing the actor in the show), is recruited by a fan to, as Variety says,  "help him defeat actual creatures that threaten to detroy Los Angeles". (Not sure destroying LA is such a bad thing?) This is also a half-hour series from David Eick, the producer for Battlestar Galactica, and writers Adam Karp (In Plain Sight, Battlestar) and Royal McGraw, best known for his work on Detective Comics from DC Comics. I know the ladies will be agah over this show.

Human Relations -- Can't get enough of The Office? Perhaps the Men in Black zapped your memory banks? Never fear, Human Relations is here. Well, at least, a temp worker who discovers aliens in the cubicles who want to destroy the Earth (don't they always?) from King of the Hill alums John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky.

and last but not least (saving the best for last, of course!),

Zeros -- Now, what starts with a Z and would be on SyFy Channel? Earlier, we had bounty hunters, here, we have Zombie Extermination and Removal Operations.. This time, not LA, but Marshall City, which has a 30-foot barrier separating infected people from the rest of the city. One might think the zombies are the Zeros, but no, it's the exterminators who are called Zeros, and are charged with keeping the peace. Zero Executive Producers are David Kenin (Hallmark Channel, USA Networks, CBS Sports) and Steve Brenner with Co-Executive Producers Chris Provost and Dave Hales.
