The Top Ten Big Bands?

The ten preceding articles list in reverse order the favorite big bands of my  "Big Band Era/Best of the Big Bands" lecture audiences for the past seven years. Only the number one band was a clear majority choice. The other nine bands could easily be rearranged. What would your top ten list look like?

In case you are curious, out of hundreds of votes cast, the following orchestras received less than two or three votes each: Lawrence Welk!, Spike Jones! Sammy Kaye and Kay Kyser. Obviously, the majority of the voters know their swing bands. Thanks for reading.

Hey Rick, this top ten list is fantastic. I just started getting into big bands, an uncle of mine has been sending me tons of iTunes songs he likes. You can post this to our site toptentopten.com and link back to your site. We are trying to create a directory for top ten lists where people can find your site. The coolest feature is you can let other people vote on the rankings of your list.
