Ten Apple Farm will hold a half-day workshop on Preserving and Canning to be held on December 5 (time TBD) at the homestead in southern Maine. Learn the essentials with Master Preserver Allison Duffy and give the gift of farm fresh produce to be enjoyed by friends and family at home this winter.
Homesteading workshops are offered throughout the year at Ten Apple Farm and range from Basic Home Cheesemaking, Baking, Poultry Slaughter & Processing, and Preserving & Canning. In some cases, owners Margaret Hathaway and Karl Schatz lead the workshops, in other cases they invite fellow homesteaders or skilled members of the greater food, farming and homesteading community to be a guest workshop leader. Participants are taught how to live off the land, feed themselves, and practice a sustainable lifestyle.
Fee is $20 and includes ingredients and two sealed jars of preserves. Space is available, but class size is limited.
