Almost time for the Carbondale Zombie Walk on May 1

Only a couple of days before the Carbondale Zombie Walk on May 1. Pre-registration for the event has officially ended but anyone who wants to attend but has not registered can register before 10 a.m. on Saturday at the parking lot of 710 Bookstore. The zombie walkin' will begin at 10 a.m.

Cost for registration on Saturday will be $10 and organizers will be making a list for t-shirts if there won't be enough available. To be guaranteed a Carbondale Zombie Walk t-shirt, pre-registration was required. For participants who want to be zombiefied by volunteer makeup artists, you will need to be at the parking lot early as makeup will start around 8:30 a.m.

The event is raising funds for Carbondale Main Street.

According to the Carbondale Zombie Walk Facebook page, the finalized schedule is as follows: 10 am – Walk starts; 10:30-12:15 - Movie - Night of the Living Dead at the Carbondale Elks Club (cash bar and snacks available); 12:15-12:30 – Drawing for Prizes at the Carbondale Elks Club; 12:30-2:00 – Independent Zombie Walking (Several Downtown businesses offering 20% off, and several bars offering drink specials); 2:00- 2:30 - Movie trivia challenge/drawing for prizes at Fat Patties; 2:30-4:00 – Independent Zombie Walking (Several Downtown businesses offering 20% off, and several bars offering drink specials); 4-4:30 – Drawing for Prizes at Castle Perilous Games and Books; 4:30-6:30 – Independent Zombie Walking (Several Downtown businesses offering 20% off, and several bars offering drink specials); 6:30 – Second Showing of Night of the Living Dead at Gatsby's.
