I checked out the newest book from Seth Grahame-Smith of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies fame from my local library - the Crab Orchard Public Library. Yes, Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter is definitely one of the quirkiest titles ever but the story itself is a complete surprise from what I expected.
I will be offering up a complete review soon as I still have a few pages to finish, but I can tell you this: You might be giggling at the title and the concept (our 16th President killing vampires in his spare time), don't overlook this book. It is an amazing intertwining of history (for those of you who enjoy reading about the past - I admit - I'm a history buff) with fantasy. Once I started reading, I was engrossed in this compelling story.
The best part of having access to library services is the fact that you don't have to buy books that you're not certain you want to own. I generally don't buy hardback books due to the cost. Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter has a price of $21.99 which is a bit steep for me and my budget - especially since I wasn't sure if the story would be good or not.
When I got word from the local Librarian that this book would be available and I would be first on the list to read it, I was thrilled. Truthfully, I like this book so well that after seeing it at a great discount at my local Sam's Club in Marion, Illinois - looks like I'll be buying it! Keep reading as I'll be writing a review soon.

Interesting title. Think of all the possibilities of linking historical figures with fantasy ones.
I love my local library! Sam's really does have great prices on books, too. This is a book I'll have to put on my reading list. Thanks.
Let me know when you return it...sounds interesting.
How about a link to the library-good job promoting libraries I do happen to love them myself.
