Exclusive new details on who will be the next 'Bachelor' (and who definitely won't be)

With The Bachelorette series finale less than a week away, loyal fans are beginning to wonder "who's the next Bachelor?" Now, Examiner.com has exclusive new details to share with readers about ABC's decision.

Traditionally, Chris Harrison has introduced the upcoming Bachelor or Bachelorette on After the Final Rose (Ali's ATFR will air Monday August 2 at 10pm ET on ABC) . For the last several seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette a fan favorite (Jason, Jillian, Jake, Ali), who failed to get the final rose, has been given a second chance at finding love on the reality tv show. But Bachelor fans, don't stay up waiting for some big announcement that Kirk or Chris L or Ty or Roberto will be returning.  "It will not be on Monday’s special," a rep for ABC confirms exclusively to Examiner.com today.  "We don’t know when we will announce the next Bachelor," the source tells Examiner.com.

While ABC remains  tight-lipped on who will be the next Bachelor, Chris Harrison confirmed today (Wednesday) who won't be. "It's definitely not gonna be Frank. In all, even if Frank wasn't with Nicole, which I hear he is, he's just too much of a risk," Harrison tells E! Online. "It would eat him alive. And it wouldn't be good TV, it would be a disaster." As far as rumors that Jake Pavelka's being considered for a third run on the ABC reality show Harrison says, "No. Never. That will never happen. Not with me as a host anyway. For many reasons."

While Bachelor fans (and Chris Harrison) would be happy to see either Chris L. or Roberto handing out the roses during next season, the show's host confirms no decision has been made.  Could that be because ABC's choice for their next Bachelor isn't so cut and dry?  As Examiner.com has been reporting, there's a "shocking outcome" on Monday's Bachelorette season finale due to Ali's "last minute, heart-wrenching decision which changed all of their lives forever." Perhaps both Chris and Roberto, who've found love, sudden fame, and a whole lot of female fans on the reality show, are both still single and willing to take on the next Bachelor role.

The Bachelorette season finale airs on Monday, August 2 on ABC beginning at 8pm ET/PT.

basically you have no idea and that's what everyone knows...the title is deceiving. IT's not exclusive.

Chris is the perfect candidate for the next bachelor. He may not be the romantist like Roberto but he's got many of the qualities women are looking for in a man. I have a feeling that if its between Chris and Roberto, Roberto might get the job because he's the romantic, latin guy that many girls fall for.

She chose Roberto....I just watched the finale. I really hope that Chris L. is the new bachelor. Oh and it's not exclusive. Coming out and saying, "This is an exclusive and the new bachelor hasn't been determined." That's not exclusive.

I think most hearts broke for Chris. He should definately be the next bachelor. Chris has class and integrity and the show needs to bring some of that back. Tired of all the reality shows that keep getting trashier and trashier. More people will watch, (young adults, older adults, middle agers and also children) with a classy guy.
