My iPhone home screen

As we get further into the 21st Century everything in our daily life becomes a little more accessible. With the invention of the iPhone came the proliferation of applications or “app” as it is commonly referred too. Apps can be for anything from news, games, photo, music, and now even fashion. From the latest in fashion shows to shopping, and even playing dress up, there is an app for you.

Several times a year when editors and buyers gather to view the latest collections around the world, the Style.com app is here to keep the rest of us up to date on all that is happening. Style.com is of course the online home of Vogue and they compress all of their great features on the website for the app. View the latest fashion shows, parties, and vote for the look of the day. The Style.com is a well-rounded app for women as well as men, showcasing all of the men’s fashion shows that happen around the world as well. Stay in the know with the Style File Blog as well as exclusive runway video from front and backstage at all of the shows.

You no longer need to be in a store or online to shop for your favorite fashions, you can do it from the comfort of your iPhone. One of the best shopping apps is by Gilt Groupe, the luxury, and invitation-only, online retailer. Gilt Groupe holds 36-hour sales from some of the worlds top designers for women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel, as well as home accessories. Since the sales are only for a limited time and quantities are low you used to miss out on some of the best merchandise unless you were sitting right in front of your computer, but with the introduction of the Gilt Groupe app you can be anywhere you’d like to be, as long as you have good cell service or access to wifi. The app is organized very well and the simple, clean layout makes it just as enjoyable to shop form your phone as your computer. Need an invite? Send me an e-mail at slcstyle@me.com Some other great shopping app’s are the Lucky Magazine app, the Target app where you can buy almost anything sold in the store, and the Shop Style app. Shop Style compiles a list of products from all your favorite websites like Shopbop, Net-A-Porter, and even Forever 21, giving them a database of well over 100,000 products for you to browse at your convenience.

For more of a fashion lifestyle app check out the Gap’s Style Mixer app and the brand new Gucci app. The Gap created a fun app that lets you play dress up with the current products in their stores and tells you where the closest Gap stores are to your current location. The Gap app also gives you special offers only available to those with the app. Gucci created an app that is perfect for their jet setting, rock star clientele. Check out everything from their latest ad campaigns, runway shows, and an exclusive iPhone product only available from the iPhone app. Right now their exclusive is a limited edition Gucci sneaker designed with DJ Mark Ronson. The Gucci iPhone app also shares with you the current music playlist of Gucci’s creative director and Mark Ronson. If you are traveling in a hip city for the first time, click on Gucci’s Little Black Book to see their favorite places to hang out in your current location.

So whether you are looking to shop, check out the latest fashion show, or play dress up, iPhone app developers are here to help the fashionistas. Search the app button on your phone or the iTunes store on your computer for the latest in all things app and iPhone.
