One of Philadelphia’s most sought after jewelry designers Zivile Pupinyte is hosting a showcase and seminar event featuring her Zivile Art line. Zivile (zhe-VEE-la) is a native of Lithuania who resides in Philadelphia, creates her unique designs that serve as adornments more than accessories. Her eco conscious designs are sourced from natural materials and stones that she cultivates from her world travels.
Zivile’s knack for thinking outside of the neck is represented in her new collection which was inspired in part by the architectural works of the world renowned designer
Antoni Gaudi. Like Zivile, Gaudi was known as a pioneer in his field; his work was greatly influenced by forms of nature and utilized interesting shapes in his stonework like twisted iron sculptures and curved stone. Gaudi’s daring use of color in his designs set him apart from other designers in his time; he would include vibrant mosaic adornments into many of his works. One could even venture to say he was “accessorizing” his buildings with his colorful mosaics.
Well, our bodies are to Zivile was buildings where to Gaudi, and she takes accessorizing to new heights with every collection. Sunday evening Zivile Art will be on display (and on sale *wink* wink*) at Area 919 from 5-9pm. Pupinyte is known for her out of this world adventures and she brings that to every event she hosts, this one being no exception. This avant garde presentation will treat your eyes to expertly styled models presenting each piece throughout the night, while treating your ears to the eclectic music mixes of DJ Gat and Miss Kate. At 7pm Zivile will host a discussion on her inspirations, materials, and processes which give you the opportunity to see inside the mind of this amazingly refreshing designer.
This event is free to the public, and promises to be a delightful evening of sights, sounds, and shopping; a perfect way to conclude your weekend in style.
Art and Antique gallery Area 919 is located at 919 North 5th Street, Philadelphia PA 19123.
