Fall has arrived, and with it, an abundance of vacationing opprotunities. Cooler weather means less humidity and one last chance to soak up the outdoors before winter shuts in.
For the Cincinnati staycationer, family fun is right around the corner. Take a hike and watch the trees perform dramatic color displays in Mt. Airy Forest (one of the largest munipal forests in the country!) or camp out at East Fork State Park, which is only a 30 minute drive from downtown. East Fork also boasts a backpack trail for those adventure minded and solitude seakers.
High school football has kicked off, and many schools have Friday night varsity games followed by Saturday morning junior varisity games. Take the family with a thermos and blanket, and cheer on your local team for some affordable fun. Or visit a craft show to stock up on holiday homemade ware.
Finally, fall would not be complete without a family visit to a pumpkin patch. Many farms feature hay rides, corn mazes and apple picking alongside traditional pumpkins.
