December 22, 2009--Friends of Susan Powell told the Salt Lake Tribune she was afraid her husband Joshua Powell would kidnap her sons if she divorced him.
Last year, Susan Powell was contemplating divorcing her husband, Joshua Powell. She opened a separate bank account, found a place to stay and even informally wrote a will. She was prepared to go back to parents in Washington.
After some fasting and praying Susan Powell decided to work on her marriage. Friends and family say the marriage was getting better this year.
Police are still investigating her disappearance. She was last seen on the 6th of December 2009. Initially, police thought the whole family had succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning. So, they broke into their home. Joshua Powell later returned with his two sons. He told police he took his two sons ages 2 and 4 camping at 12:30 a.m. when the temperature outside was between ten and fifteen degrees.

I was frightened for my life, in my first marriage. My husband threatened to kill me if I took his daughter away from him. I know how that goes.
This is going to end up an unsolved case. The police are screwing it up by sitting around doing nothing. We need some answers here. Susan's family needs answers as well as Susan herself. And the rest of the world needs answers. You haven't even made Josh take you to the alleged 'camp ground'
You're running out of time, cops. You're probably already out. And Josh is not cooperating. That's a big red flag that you should be paying attentnion to. If he wasn't involved, at the very least to some kind of small degree, he would be helping you out a whole lot further.
Is no one else concerned about what that big old wet spot on their living room floor was? How about you figure THAT out and get back to us.

I think he poisoned her at dinner that Sunday afternoon. As of 5pm her neighbor stopped by to say hello. Susan stated that she was feeling ill & they had just gotten thru eating pancakes for dinner. Well @5:30pm and it's 18 degrees outside, he deceides he is going to take his 2 & 4 yr old sleding??? (dark and too cold for little ones to be out there!!! Then he comes back from sleding at 8:30pm pulls the car inside the garage closing the door.? No big deal right!? Well I'm sure she was laying on the floor dead where the wet spot was. The boys were asleep I'm sure so he carried them into bed. Then stuff her body in the trunk, & proceeded to try and clean up her bodily fluids where she died. Then four hours later"" Yes he takes the children out in 10 degree weather to go camping??? What kind of father would be dragging his babies around in the freezing cold? I'll tell you! A sorry excuse for a father who is trying to dispose of their mommy!!
Ahh motive, motive..Joshua Powell needs to tell them where he left his wife. Her family deserves that much.
