Today is Monday, July 19th, 2010. It's not just another day. Today is Global Hug Your Kids Day! That's right, every year, starting in 2008, the third Monday in July we are reminded how important it is to hug. Really, the purpose of the holiday is to encourage families to hug every single day! For the story behind what made this holiday come about and tons of other fantastic information, visit www.hugyourkidstoday.com - an organization who strives to see the day that every child in every country around the world will be hugged by a parent or a guardian.

And now, a poem by the late, great Shel Silverstein, who reminds us how much fun it is to hug!

HUG O'WAR
I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.

Now get out there and hug those kiddos!!
