As a mom, we clean. A lot. And chances are, you've see Billy Mays advertising some sort of cleaning products over time. Whether it be OxiClean or OrangeGlo, we're all familiar with Billy Mays.
Unfortunately, Billy Mays died today at age 50. Yesterday, he was seriously injured during a Tampa International Airport incident, but was seemingly okay when he was sent home. He passed away sometime overnight in his sleep, found dead by his wife Deborah Mays this morning.
What's great about Billy Mays is the fact that he personally tested everything that he advertised. The "infomercial king" advertised tons of household cleaning products, and recently joined Anthony Sullivan making the reality show "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel. The future of this show is unknown at this point, due to this recent news.
As a tribute to Billy Mays, let's remember the awesome cleaning and household products he advertised that we, as moms, most dearly adored. From OxiClean to Kaboom, Handy Switch to Mighty Putty, let's take a look at the best household "as seen on TV" goods:

Billy Mays was known best for advertising OxiClean, a wonderful cleaning product that even my own mother swears by (it removed convenient store cappacino from her beige carpeting, and we have yet to hear the end of how amazing it is). There was OxiClean Laundry Stain Remover, Free Versatile Stain Remover, and Spray-a-Way Instand Stain Remover, among others. |
