Becky Griggs says she owed her 200 pound weight loss to diet and nutrition. It has left many wondering if it can really happen.
As a stay-at-home mom with three young kids, I am living proof that it can.
Last summer, my husband and I decided it was time to make a change. We did not want pills or surgery, but we did want to lose a lot of weight. We knew quick fixes would not work for long. We wanted natural and real weight loss.
We started counting calories and working out. It started with a treadmill and then we added an elliptical and weightlifting to it.
Over about a 5 month period, my husband has lost 70 pounds and I have lost 60. Though it is not the 200 that Becky Griggs has claimed, we are not done yet.
As a stay-at-home mom with three kids ages 5 years and under, I really did not think it could happen, but I can proudly say today that it absolutely can and without all the tricks that the multi-billion dollar diet industry says you need.
