Participating in 5k's is a great way to get out of the house, get exercises, and meet other SAHM's in the city. So I bring to you the first SAHM's of Jacksonville 5k challenge.
How it works:
- Have fun! This isn't a competition, it is an individual challenge to push yourself and keep you active.
- We will participate in at least one 5k walk/run each month. You may choose to run the whole 5k or walk it. Whatever you feel comfortable with.
- There will be weekly columns with advice about walking and running, staying hydrated, pacing, and information regarding our upcoming 5k's.
- Your challenge is to participate in at least one 5k per month from September 2009 to May 2010 (totals 27miles).

October 17 - Race for the Cure (benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation)
October 24 - Start! Heart Walk (benefits the American Heart Association)
November 7 - Free to Breathe 5k (Fundraising for lung cancer research and awareness)
December 6 - Festival of Lights 5k
January 23 - Matanzas 5k
May 31 - Memorial Day 5k
**This challenge is not limited to just SAHM's. Everyone that wants to get out, get physical, and have fun is welcomed and encouraged to join our mission!
